This Summer, I headed down to Hilton Head, South Carolina with my family. During that weekend, my cousins and I escaped for a day trip to Savannah, Georgia. Viewing past history, tasting fermented honey, and enjoying beaches, it was a great weekend. While there we visited the Wormsloe plantation and you can catch my review of that on the site.
We also went to the Savannah Bee Company.
While browsing and shopping through the store we stumbled across their Mead sampling service. Meads are fermented honey and the majority we were drinking had higher than a 9.0% alcohol content. Talk about lit off a sip.
Many of the meads had a smooth taste, and mostly made with 2 to 3 ingredients.
The bartender was great and for $7 we got an easy buzz in a bee store.
Cheers to drinking in a retail store!
